The Nordic Collegiate Programming Contest (NCPC) is an annual team-based programming competition aimed at university and college students from the Nordic and Baltic countries. NCPC is suitable for programmers of all skill levels, from beginner to expert. The contest features a well-rounded problem set with a mix of easy and challenging problems.
Each university hosts their own local site. Scoreboards are maintained for local sites, national level, and the overall contest, giving participants the opportunity to compare their performance against others at their desired level of competition. Professional teams (with team members not enrolled at a university) are also welcome to participate.

The jury has received many queries from different individuals regarding use of software or prewritten code. These queries have included specific descriptions of things that were technically allowed by the rules. However, the jury agreed unanimously that these uses of local code were not adhering to the spirit of the rules. After careful deliberation, we were unable to amend the rules in a smaller manner to address the issue these queries raised. As such, we felt forced to rewrite the rules and limit use of software and prewritten code. We are making them more aligned with what you might expect in an on-site contest which provides an environment, such as NWERC, despite the contest remaining Bring Your Own Device. Probably the most impactful change to teams is that prewritten code must now be printed, like at NWERC.
